The human body meridians are mainly divided into twelve serious meridians, eight channels of odd meridiansedit, special twelve meridians, and twelve meridian tendons.

The twelve serious meridians(十二正经), also known as the twelve serious meridians, are the main body of the meridian system. Its naming is based on its yin and yang attributes, viscera, and circulatory parts.The names of the twelve meridians are: Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian, Hand Jueyin Pericardial Meridian, Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian, Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, Hand Shaoyang Triple Jiao Meridian, Hand Sun Small Intestine Meridian, Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian, Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian , Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian, Foot Yang Ming Stomach Meridian, Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, Full Sun Bladder Meridian.

Eight channels of odd meridiansedit(奇经八脉)
It is the general term for Ren, Du, Chong, Band, Yin Qiao, Yang Qiao, Yin and Yang. They are different from the twelve serious meridians. They are not directly related to the viscera, and they have no relationship between the outside and the inside. Its functions are as follows: 1. To communicate the connection between the twelve meridians; 2. to regulate the accumulation of Qi and blood in the twelve meridians.

The special twelve meridians(十二经别) are the separate parts of the twelve serious meridians of leaving, entering, exiting, and merging, and are the branch veins that go deep into the body cavity of the serious meridians. The twelve meridians are all separated from the limbs of the twelve meridians, the yang meridians are combined with the original meridian, and the yin meridians are combined with the yang meridian in the outer meridian.

The twelve meridian tendons (十二经筋)all start at the ends of the extremities, gather at the joints and bones, and move towards the head of the trunk. Walk on the body surface, not into the internal organs.
