Traditional Orange Peel and Ginger Water

Anyone who has studied Traditional Chinese medicine knows that every food or herb has a nature and flavor, and also roughly understands how to regulate the health of the body with the ingredients on hand.

Today’s orange peel boiled ginger water is a folk tradition in Guangdong and Guangxi, China, where people use it to relieve the symptoms of dampness.

Orange peel tastes slightly bitter and spicy, and is warm in nature; it enters the spleen and lung meridians and can regulate qi, relieve dampness and resolve phlegm.

Ginger is a common ingredient in our kitchen, spicy, and slightly warm; it enters the lung, spleen, and stomach meridians

It can relieve the symptoms of cold, warm the middle, and stop vomiting:

Orange peel and ginger are boiled together and drunk, which can treat hiccups, and abdominal distension after eating. As well as symptoms such as a heavy head, runny nose, and phlegm.

It is not suitable for people with Yin deficiency, hyperactivity of fire, and real heat syndrome.

How to cook it?

1. Prepare an orange and rub it with salt first to make the orange peel cleaner. Then rinse the orange with water. Cut the orange, leaving the orange peel, and cut it into long strips.

2 .Peeled ginger about 20 grams,  slice it.

3. Put the ginger slices and orange peel into the health pot and boil for at least 20 minutes. Drink a cup when it is warm, three times a day.
